Indian Head Massage

My Indian Head & Face Massage is based on the ancient Indian healing system called Ayurveda – the science of life. It is known to be the earliest recorded form of medical treatment dating back for thousands of years. It has played a very important role in Indian life as an important way of relieving pain and of promoting healing.  A calming yet energising massage of the neck, head and face, focusing on pressure points to relieve headaches, and reduce stress and tension. It soothes, comforts and rebalances energy flow, and is a perfect way to completely relax the mind, body and spirit.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Are oils are used in the massage treatment? Oil is used on head, neck and face but if you do not wish to have oil used on your hair, please be sure to let me know.

  2. Is the massage performed seated or lying down? During my Indian head & face massage, you will be lying down on a treatment couch or fully reclined in a lafuma chair, while I am seated behind you close to your head

  3. Is this a deep tissue massage style with pressure techniques? I use some pressure on the neck and upper shoulders and work on pressure points for tension relief. The pressure intensity is always uniquely tailored to suit each person.

  4. What is recommended after treatment? Can I go out afterwards or do I need to wash my hair? If you plan to go out after treatment simply let me know. I will use oil-free hands to perform massage on your head. To maximise the benefits of the massage treatment, I recommend a calm evening of relaxation. Of course, this is not absolutely essential but I highly recommend consuming plenty of water to help flush toxins. Avoid alcohol and other toxins such as sugary snacks and drinks directly after treatment.

  5. How should I dress for the massage?  A comfortable t-shirt or strappy top.  A blanket will be draped over you, to ensure maximum comfort.
